intro.
Taking Residence in Ul'dah, this miqo'te is secretive on the matters of his origin, though he claims to hail from Thavnair. With a nearly blasphemous greed for coin, he fits in as good as any aspiring mercenary within the Jewel of the Desert's walls.Conniving, Mischievous, and Flirtatious.. or Displined, Honorable, and Diligent. It's a coin's toss on which side of this unpredictable man one will meet. Nearly any work, above or below the law's standards, is as good as any so long as it pays an agreeable price.

rule i. 21+ I will not rp with anyone under the age of 21. Please respect this.
even if it doesn't need to be said, i'll say it anyway. i am not my character. ic and ooc are separate, please respect this, and let me know if this'll be an issue.
darker themes, more morally-ambiguous topics are fine. as a horror and mystery fan, i am down with the creepy and grittier parts of ffxiv's world and story. there are a few hard no's for me when it comes to things that will make me uncomfortable, but i'll be sure to mention if it comes to that point.
not a fan of going to player-ran rp venues for first meetings, but i make an exception for nasrin as a character.
discord rp is fine, but if it drags on too long, or gets forgotten, or anything other issues that come up with rping over discord...
i will probably ask that we either move to in-game or ask that we perform a summary/time-skip.
i'm down with making friends ooc! i play through casual and hardcore content, always happy to drag another fella in with me. rule iii. if you see me in game and like what you see from my carrd, feel free to send me a tell!
usually if i'm in-game, i have the time to respond to a tell or two. i'll be happy to answer any questions and send my discord over if we need to talk more thoroughly. rule iv.
lore compliant/bending ✔
lore breaking ✘
as someone who only joined the game after endwalker's release, i can confidently say i don't know everything when it comes to ffxiv's lore. i personally have a fondness for the pieces i've learned about 1.0's lore, if that is a concern, let me know! same goes with lore bending. with topics like dalmasca, lanids, soulstones, and mage knights, and other in-game places and mechanics, not everything is entirely fleshed out. i am alright with lore bending, granted that you don't expect my character's lore to change to fit yours.
voidsent, garleans, light echo users, and the like are fine.
i hard pass on things such as warriors of light and high power-fantasy characters. things that fall under the category of lore-breaking are a hard no. rule v.
keeping stuff vague
i prefer the method of learning stuff ic versus having the information at hand and then not mentioning it.
i use this guideline when rping with others for the first time. i tend to only look at the basic info, hooks and ooc guidelines. anything past that, i try to avoid.
themes.
as mentioned before, i'm an avid horror fan.
rp with themes such horror, mystery, and overall adventure are my cup of tea. although, nasrin as a character enjoys a fair bit of gossip and drama, and is not always on the right side of the law. criminal activities are welcome so long as they're entertaining. longterm.
frequent and consistent meet ups / some sort of continuous narrative or plot.
nasrin doesn't really have much going on, simply going where the coin takes him as long as its far from the consequences of war. got something worth his while to make him linger for more than a moon or two? surprise me! past or future garlean antagonists.
as a former garlean conscript, he's had his fair share of troubles from garleans and their sympathizers. nowadays he treats them with the same sort of wariness that one would expect, sometimes a preventative measure of force is required.. but he's not exactly infalliable to the side effects of trauma. something either set in his past, or coming back to haunt him would be interesting! employers.
the world runs on coin, and so does nasrin! whether its as simple as earning a place to stay for the night, or as extravagant as a new ensemble to boost his spirits, there can never be too much coin in nasrin's case.
he'll take any sort of work, legal or otherwise, as long as it keeps him relatively out of trouble and pays well. need a bodyguard or security measure? he's talented with the blade and surprisingly masterful at anti-magick warfare. or perhaps you're just looking for some company for conversation? this miqo'te is not at all inexperienced to doing what it takes to get on by, even if he wishes it were otherwise. any sort of connections.
all in all, he's quite a versatile character. mercenary work can take him anywhere and can bring him to foreign lands with no great struggle. i'm currently just looking to have fun with this character!

about.
Often found lounging about the various haunts and establishments of Ul'dah's underbelly and markets, Nasrin'to is a mercenary by trade. Whether it's hunting, escorting, or bodyguarding, he's done it all. Whether or not he's a diligent with his work as he is with his appearance depends on payment and personal interest. While Ul'dah is his current place of residence, he often travels when the feeling suits him and can be found as far flung as Thavnair and Hingashi. As for his actual place of origin, he often cites Thavnair despite its population of Au Ra and Hyur. Added reasonings vary, refugees from another country he won't name, his family taking to trading and moving for business, being born between voyages, etc. What he chooses to say is mostly based on whichever sounds the most convincing or whichever seems to strike his personal fancy. If his surname is recognized or someone draws a comparison between him and a certain mage knight of legend... he is quick to deny it. Especially if comes from those related to the former Empire. A fickle man, with fickle secrets.Reticence about his origins aside, he is usually quite an amicable man. A sociable character who often finds amusement with idle flirtations and good drinks. If those interactions led to anything, he is not one to kiss and tell. A spoiled man at heart, he goes wherever the entertainment or coin leads.

Typically he looks..
Decorative, favoring gold jewelry and vibrant gemstones, often paired with deeply colored fabrics with intricate patterns. preening as if expecting to be admired like the delicate ornaments he adorns himself with, looking for an easy life. a disciplined soldier when he wants to be, which is to say, almost never. just at ease listening to gossip on a settee as he is wielding a blade.
a confusing mix of indulgent peculiarities.

miqo'te for hire
a mercenary is many things, a soldier, a guard, a hunter, an escort should one call for it... nasrin is adept at every single aspect that comes with the title. skilled with the shortsword and longsword, he often fights with or without a shield. in particular, he is skilled at repelling magical attacks, a skill picked up from the discipline he's mastered yet refuses to name. as long as the work pays well, he's willing to take on whatever the employer requires, even if it entails getting his hands a bit dirty.
under the table
his eagerness for coin extends to matters below the law as well. he's not inexperienced when it comes to dealing with the criminal underbellies of society had dealt in both the cover of shadows and of red silks. even in ul'dah, such is the same as it is in any place that values coin more than the lives of its citizenry. it doesn't matter how high the risk is, or whether it requires blade or body, so long as it doesn't fall outside of his own self-made morals, he'll accept payment from anywhere for anything.
the scars of war
the mere mention of the empire serves to quickly dispel whatever good spirits are in the air. for this miqo'te, it's more than that. it's a chill in his wrists, anger broiling in his chest, and a sort of silence that comes not out of ire, but of habit, instinct. garleans and their sympathizers earn no empathy from him.
past best left buried
despite his insistence on hailing from thavnair, miqo'te are not known to be from there. his accent compromises such claims, and added lies only serve to muddy the waters of his already murky origins.
a familiar name
any citizen from Landis or dalmasca may have heard of the infamous mage knight aaedela yaldazai. having led an incursion on dalmascan lands and having masterfully tampered with the limits of her ancestor's ancient discipline, her name is known far and wide. her cowardly deserter son, however, is lesser known, and just as despised.
